Anthony Hopkins Gallery
PAGE 1
Here are a few high-quality scans of miscellaneous black-and-white press photos I've collected that are connected with some of Tony's earlier performances.  No, the ones at the top aren't from some long-lost Dr. Who episode, but from a BBC version of Sartre's play Kean.  The next one is from International Velvet, and the final two are from Guilty Conscience.  You'll find two of these pictures redone in wallpaper size on the Downloads page.  The captions are quoted from the accompanying press copy.
^Flamboyant genius Edmund Kean, whose on-stage and private excesses made the 19th century actor a legend in his own time, comes to life on the Mobil-funded Masterpiece Theatre in the person of stage-screen-TV star Anthony Hopkins in "Kean," two-episode adaptation of Jean-Paul Sartre's farce comedy on PBS. Press release from Frank Goodman Associates, 1979.
^Anthony Hopkins as Captain Johnson, British Equestrian Team Trainer, in MGM's "International Velvet," a United Artists release. Copyright 1978 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.
^Anthony Hopkins portrays a prominent criminal lawyer, Blythe Danner (left) plays his wife, and Swoozie Kurtz, his mistress, in "Guilty Conscience," psychological suspense drama to be broadcast ... on the CBS Television Network.   Copyright 1985 CBS Inc.
